Lead generation for local businesses: your own leads, not rented ones

Lead generation for a local business means getting people who need your service to call, book or fill in a form, and making sure you know the moment they do. We build that flow in your own accounts: search, Maps, ads, forms, call tracking and lead alerts. The leads are yours, and we never sell or resell them.

What is lead generation for a local business?

It’s the work that turns people who need you into calls, forms and bookings you can act on. For a local business it has three parts:

  • Getting found: Google search, Google Maps and AI answers, so people see your name when they look.
  • Getting chosen: reviews, clear service pages and honest ads, so they have a reason to pick you.
  • Catching the lead: forms that work on a phone, calls tracked to their source and an alert the moment a form arrives.

You probably have some of this already. Lead generation joins it up, so leads don’t slip through the gaps.

Do you sell leads?

No. We never sell or resell leads, and we don’t buy them for you. Every lead comes from your own website, Business Profile and ad accounts, and goes straight to you.

Leads you own vs bought leads: what’s the difference?

Leads you own come from your own website, Business Profile and ads. Bought leads come from a lead seller or marketplace that owns the first contact with the customer. The difference shows in who else gets the lead, and in what’s left when you stop paying.

Leads you own Bought or shared leads
Where they come from Your website, your Business Profile, your ad accounts The seller’s website, directory or ads
How you pay Your ad spend, paid to Google or Meta, plus a flat fee for the work A price per lead, booking or job, set by the seller
Who else gets the lead Nobody: it’s your form and your number Depends on the seller: some send one request to several businesses
Whose name the customer saw Yours: your reviews, your pages, your ad The seller’s first, sometimes next to your competitors
When you stop paying Ads stop, but your site, profile and reviews stay The leads stop, and nothing stays with you
What you can see Every lead and its source, in your own accounts What the seller chooses to share

Bought leads can still fill a slow week. Track their cost per booked job beside your own leads, so you can see which one pays.

Local Services Ads sit in between. Google charges per lead, but the ads run in your own account, under your name, and the leads come straight to you.

What do you build?

  • Search and Maps: SEO and local SEO and Google Maps, so people find you without a fee for every visit.
  • Ads in your own accounts: Google Ads and Local Services Ads for people searching now, and Facebook and Instagram ads for planned work.
  • A website that turns visits into calls: a tap-to-call button on every page, fast loading on phones and one page per service. See websites.
  • Forms: short, easy on a phone, with one or two questions that sort serious leads, such as the town and the type of job. They never ask for health details or card numbers.
  • Call tracking: a tracking number for each source, such as your ads, your Business Profile or your website, so you can see where each call came from.
  • Lead alerts: each new form lead sent to you or your front desk straight away.

How do you handle follow-up?

You or your team make the call. Our job is to make sure every lead reaches you straight away, and that you can see where it came from. Today that means forms that land with you, calls tracked to their source and an alert for every new form lead.

Call back while the customer is still looking, the same hour if you can. Our monthly report shows how many leads came in, from where, and how many turned into booked work, if you share that with us.

Who owns the leads?

You do. Leads arrive in your inbox, your ad accounts and your call history. We use them only to report to you, and we never sell, rent or reuse them. If you leave, every lead and every account stays with you.

How do you count a lead?

We agree on a definition with you at the start, before any money is spent. For example: a call from a new number that lasts more than a minute, a form with a real phone number, or a booked appointment. Then we count only those, by source, each month. Spam, sales calls and existing customers don’t count.

Which industries do you build lead flow for?

The same industries we do all our work for, where one new customer is worth a lot. A few have rules that change how leads are bought or tracked:

Frequently asked questions

Can you guarantee a number of leads?

No. Nobody controls how many people need your service in a given month, or what your competitors spend. We promise the work, a clear definition of a lead and an honest count of them each month.

Do you charge per lead?

No. Our fee is flat, for every business we work with. If you run Local Services Ads, Google charges you per lead, but you pay Google directly, not us.

How do you charge law firms?

A fixed project price or a fixed monthly fee, agreed in writing. We never take a share of legal fees, and we never charge per lead or per signed case. Paying a non-lawyer for each lead or case, or sharing fees with one, can run into ABA Model Rules 7.2(b) and 5.4(a), and your state’s version of those rules may be stricter.
